Right-click a mailbox, open the Send Mail tab, type the character's name and a subject, then drag items into the slots or add gold, and click Send. There's a small postage fee per item. Mailboxes stand outside inns and banks in every town and city. These are the standard WoW controls. We haven't checked every label in the Forever client, so the wording may differ slightly.

Sending

  1. Right-click a mailbox.
  2. Click Send Mail.
  3. Type the full character name and a subject.
  4. Drag items from your bags into the attachment slots, or type an amount of gold.
  5. Click Send.

Receiving

A small envelope appears on your minimap when you have mail. Open any mailbox, click a letter, then take the items or gold. Unread mail expires after a while and goes back to the sender, so collect it.

Cash on delivery (COD)

Tick COD and enter a price to sell an item by mail. The other player has to pay that amount to take it, and the gold comes back to you by mail. Good for deals agreed in trade chat.

Who you can mail

  • Your own characters on the same faction and ruleset. A handy way to pass gear and gold to an alt.
  • Other players on the same faction and ruleset.
  • Not the other faction. Horde and Alliance can't mail each other, and they can't join the same guild either.

How long it takes

Mail isn't always instant. Letters with items or gold can take a while, especially to other players. We haven't timed it in Forever yet. If mail looks late, wait before sending again, or you'll pay twice.

Don't trade gold for real money

Buying gold breaks the rules and can get an account banned. See gold buying bans, and for honest ways to earn it, making gold while leveling.
