Tips and mistakes

  • Let the pet hold the enemy for a moment before you shoot.
  • Carry enough ammo and pet food for a long session.
  • Use a Frost trap to stop an enemy that runs at you.
  • Tame a new pet when a stronger one shows up in a zone. Foxes are new in Forever.
  • Shooting before the pet has the enemy's attention
  • Forgetting that pets no longer get player buffs
  • Melee-ing with a terrible weapon: keep a decent one in your bags

FAQ

What spec should I level a Hunter as in WoW Forever?

Beast Mastery. Level as Beast Mastery. Your pet tanks, so a stronger pet means faster kills and safer pulls. Send the pet first, count to two so it holds the enemy, then open with Aimed Shot (baseline at 20) or your strongest shot. Keep Hunter's Mark on anything that takes more than a few seconds to kill.

What stats does a Hunter want while leveling?

Ranged weapon damage first. Agility. Stamina, then Intellect for mana.

Is Hunter fast to level in WoW Forever?

We rank it S tier for leveling (pre-launch): The pet tanks, you shoot from long range, and in-combat traps cover the dead zone. Still the smoothest solo leveler.
