You start with one small backpack and four empty bag slots. Fill those slots with the biggest bags you can afford, sell every gray item, and keep crafting materials in the bank. Blizzard's starter guide gives the same advice: gray items have no use beyond selling them to a vendor.
Bags to buy
These are the plain bags with their sizes and prices as Forever's game files list them. In Classic, general goods and trade goods vendors in towns sold them.
| Bag | Slots | Vendor price |
|---|---|---|
| Small Brown Pouch | 6 | 5 silver |
| Brown Leather Satchel | 8 | 25 silver |
| Heavy Brown Bag | 10 | 2 gold |
| Huge Brown Sack | 12 | 10 gold |
Buy the 6-slot pouches straight away. They're cheap and every slot counts at low level.
Bags tailors make
Tailors sew bags from cloth you'll loot anyway. The sizes in the game files:
| Bag | Slots |
|---|---|
| Linen Bag | 6 |
| Woolen Bag | 8 |
| Small Silk Pack | 10 |
| Mageweave Bag | 12 |
| Runecloth Bag | 14 |
If you're not a tailor, a guildmate or the trade channel can make them for you. Bring your own cloth.
The bank
Every capital city has a bank. Talk to a banker to store items you want to keep, such as crafting materials and gear for later. You can buy extra bank bag slots there too.
One bag or many
The Enhanced preset shows all your bags as one window. The Classic preset shows them separately. You can switch either way in the options. See Classic or Enhanced. For sorting and search, our sister site compares bag add-ons.
Keep space free
- Sell grays every time you're in town. The vendor's repair button is right there too, see repairing gear.
- Don't hoard quest items from finished quests.
- Mail spare materials to an alt, see sending mail.
