If your FPS in WoW Forever suddenly drops to a flat 60 and stays there until you restart, it's a reported bug. Players say it happened in the beta too. One report ties it to Nvidia driver 617.14, on a fast PC with a high refresh rate screen. We found no staff reply when we checked on 5 November, so everything here is unverified.
Check the settings first
It's worth ruling out a real cap before you blame a bug:
- Max foreground FPS in the game's graphics settings. Make sure it isn't set to 60.
- Vertical sync. If it's on and your screen is set to 60 Hz, you'll get 60.
- Your screen's refresh rate in Windows display settings, in case it dropped to 60.
- Background FPS. If the game thinks it's in the background, it uses a separate, lower cap.
If it jumps to 60 mid-session
Players say a full game restart fixes it until the next time. Others say they turn settings off and back on. If you're on Nvidia 617.14, an older or newer driver is a reasonable test, though we can't promise it helps.
Report it
If you can reproduce it, post on the bug report board with your graphics card, driver version and screen refresh rate.
If the game crashes instead, see error codes. For which settings are worth changing in general, see settings to change.
