If "The Great Outdoors" won't complete "Sit near the campfire" in WoW Forever, it's a reported bug, not something you're doing wrong. A thread about it had more than 8,000 views by 5 November. We found no staff reply, and it isn't on Blizzard's known issues list.
What players tried
Unverified, from that thread:
- Getting the campfire buff and sitting for minutes: no credit for most people.
- Abandoning the quest, picking it up again and sitting over and over. One player says it worked after a few tries. Their partner still couldn't get it.
- A player who said it worked came back to say it didn't.
What to do
- Try once: abandon, pick it up again, then stand right next to the fire and type
/sit. - If it doesn't work, skip it for now. Keep levelling and come back after a hotfix.
- Report it on the bug report board. Add your race, zone and what you saw.
A related report says players can't progress the quest line that teaches you to make a campfire.
How camping works
Forever has a camping system that ties into this quest line. Our camping guide explains it.
Other launch bugs are on known issues and hotfixes.
