Camping is one of Forever's quieter additions. Blizzard's launch post describes it.

How it works

  • Cooking's Basic Campfire becomes a shared campsite.
  • Nearby players can each add one Camp Feature, up to three per camp. Camp Features are made with professions.
  • Sitting or crafting at the camp for at least a minute gives you its benefits.
  • Some camp buffs don't stack with the matching class buffs.

Who it helps

  • Groups resting between pulls. One cook lights the fire and two crafters add features, and the whole group gets the buffs.
  • Crafters. A Camp Feature makes your profession useful to the people around you, not just for selling.
  • Solo players still get the buffs from their own camp, but less of them, since a basic camp is built for three contributors.

What Blizzard has named

From the panel recap, also Confirmed:

  • Basic Campfires give you vendors, repairs, profession workspaces and one-hour buffs. Camp objects have a one-hour cooldown.
  • Camp objects unlock at profession skill 20.
  • Blacksmiths make a Sharpening Wheel (Attack Power), Tailors a Faction Banner (Spirit) and Herbalists an Incense Candle (Intellect).
  • Alchemists get an Alchemy Lab and Leatherworkers a Tanning Rack.
  • Cooks can upgrade campfires to hold five or 10 objects.
  • Campfire food can give a small experience bonus and stats.

What we still need to see

The full list for the other professions, and each buff's exact numbers. We'll add them to each profession page once we've crafted them.

Cooking is worth leveling

Cooking is a secondary profession, so it doesn't take one of your two main slots. You can learn all three secondaries (Cooking, First Aid and Fishing) on every character, per Blizzard's new player guide.
