Which class levels fastest and safest from 1 to 60 in World of Warcraft: Forever, with a one-line reason for each. Pre-launch version based on Blizzard's published class changes.

SS tier
 Hunter | The pet tanks, you shoot from long range, and in-combat traps cover the dead zone. Still the smoothest solo leveler. |
 Warlock | Voidwalker tanking, Life Tap and Drain Life mean almost no downtime. Demons now scale with your gear. |
Beast Mastery

 Druid | Cat and bear handle any pull, self-heals replace food, and potions now work in form. Travel Form speeds up the 30s. |
 Paladin | Holy Strike at 6 and Consecration at 20 finally give Paladins real damage on top of plate and heals. |
 Shaman | Hour-long imbues and saved totem sets remove most of the old setup. Sturdy, with heals between pulls. |
 Mage | Fast kills and free water. Frost is very safe once you learn kiting, and group grinding is the fastest in the game. |

 Priest | Shadow with Devouring Plague at 20 is solid, but mana and cloth armor slow you on long sessions. |
 Rogue | Stealth skips fights and finishes quests quickly, but there's no self-heal: expect to eat a lot. |
 Warrior | Victory Rush at 20 fixes much of the old downtime, but Warriors still lean on gear and healers more than anyone. |

- We rank for solo questing from 1 to 60 with normal gear: how fast you kill, how often you stop to eat or drink, and how often you die. Group grinding and dungeon spam are a different question; we'll rank them separately.
- This first version is built on Blizzard's published class changes (the Class Deep Dives) and on how these classes leveled in Classic. It isn't based on live-realm data yet. We'll publish v2 after launch week and keep the old versions.
