WoW Forever respec cost: how much talents cost to reset
Updated 2026-11-03

Blizzard hasn't published what a respec costs at launch in WoW Forever. The beta used a temporary low price, so the real cost is unknown until people try it on live servers tonight.
Where you respec
Confirmed: you change talents at a class trainer in a major city, and that includes your Legacy talents (Blizzard's class post). You can't do it out in the world.
What the beta charged
- Blizzard: "the cost is now 1 silver to re-spec", and it said this was temporary for the beta. After your first reset the next one costs much more, then drops back to 1 silver after an hour (notes of 24 September). Legacy talent resets worked in a similar way during the beta.
- Players: before that discount, forum posts reported 1 gold for the first reset, rising to 5 gold. That's Unverified and may not be the launch price either.
Players are asking Blizzard to keep it cheap at launch. We've found no reply from Blizzard, so don't count on it.
What about dual spec
Confirmed: dual spec arrives at level 40. Unknown: what it costs. Players are asking about that too, with no answer yet. See talents explained.
How to avoid paying much
- Plan first. Our talent calculator and spec guides show what's been published. Full trees load from the live client.
- Stick to one tree while leveling. Points in one tree reach milestones at 11, 16, 21 and 31 points.
- Be wary of old builds. Blizzard changed talents on 3 November, so a beta build may list talents that no longer exist.
- Budget your gold. Blizzard says training all class abilities from 1 to 60 costs about 206 to 207 gold, and that's before any respec.
We'll put the real prices here as soon as we've paid them.
