WoW Forever patch notes: what changed on 3 November, class by class
Updated 2026-11-03

Blizzard posted its last big round of WoW Forever changes on 3 November, the day before launch (Beta Development Notes). Damage went up across the game and higher-level creatures got more health to match. Several talents named in Blizzard's earlier class posts are gone, so any guide written before this may be out of date.
Confirmed as Blizzard's notes. Beta data in the sense that we haven't played the final version yet. Blizzard says it doesn't plan big tuning changes before the raids open, apart from bugs and serious outliers, and that a large pass comes once it has data from players past level 30.
Things you'll notice on your first login
- New spells don't go on your bars. Learning one no longer adds it automatically, so open your Spellbook (P) after training.
- Bags don't equip themselves. You have to put each new bag in a bag slot yourself.
- Training costs were evened out. All class abilities from 1 to 60 now cost between 206 and 207 gold for every class. Most abilities learned at the same level cost the same.
- Starting zones respawn fastest. Blizzard raised respawn rates for launch, fastest in starting zones, and plans to lower them once the first rush has passed.
Druid
- Berserk is removed. Lacerate is now a talent, not baseline.
- At 16 points, Feral chooses Lacerate or Predatory Discipline. At 31 points, it chooses Primal Bite or Shifting Power.
- Bear threat goes to 115%, to make up for Blessing of Salvation being removed.
- Gift of the Earthmother is replaced by Bloom, and Wild Growth now has a 3-second cast.
Hunter
- All traps now share one 30-second cooldown.
- Aimed Shot's bonus damage is up about 110% and Sniper Shot's is doubled.
- Arcane Shot and Serpent Sting hit harder too.
Mage
- Arcane Blast costs less per stack, and its stacks last 18 seconds.
- Ice Lance has an 8-second cooldown shared with Fire Blast, and does 300% more to Frozen targets again.
- Frost Blast and Piercing Ice are removed.
- Low-rank spells no longer reduce most talent proc chances. The Blizzard spell is the exception.
Paladin
- Twist of Light is removed. The Retribution capstone is now Unsealed Wrath.
- Salvation, Mass Salvation and Blessing of Light are removed.
- Righteous Fury is trained at 10 and gives 33% threat plus 90% from Holy damage.
- Voice of Truth, Improved Seal of Fury and Instrument of Law are removed. Holy gains Oath of Light, and Protection gains Shieldsworn.
Priest
- Binding Heal is replaced by Holy Binding.
- Shadow Word: Death costs 30% of your health if the target survives, up from 10%. It costs nothing on a miss.
Rogue
- New ability Shank at level 24, and new passive Poised at 18.
- Venom is now a passive that works through Shank. Thousand Cuts, Quietus and Cutthroat are removed, and Death Mark is the new Subtlety capstone.
- Deadly and Instant Poison's Attack Power scaling is doubled.
Shaman
- Lava Burst is removed. Call of Thunder takes its place, and Lightning Mastery replaces Elemental Mastery.
- Lightning Bolt goes up 80% at max rank. Chain Lightning is a 2.5-second cast that costs much more mana.
- Totemic Projection is now Totemic Call: it brings your totems to you, on a 30-second cooldown.
- Stormstrike is 150% weapon damage on a 6-second cooldown. Maelstrom Weapon triggers twice as often.
- Riptide has no instant heal now, costs about 40% less and has a 12-second cooldown.
Warlock
- Pets get less health from your Stamina: 2 per point, down from 7.5.
- Drain Soul is much less likely to give a shard from a hit. Wrack hits much harder.
Warrior
- Defensive Stance's threat bonus goes from 30% to 80%.
- Fury gains Reckless Swings and Improved Whirlwind. Flurry is now 3 points for 30% attack speed.
- Slam's cooldown drops to 15 seconds.
What to do with this
Don't follow a talent build from before 3 November without checking it. Our class guides and tier lists use the newest notes for facts, but the tier letters themselves were set before this tuning, and we'll revise them once people have played. Raids still open on 9 December.
