Library books are a collection in WoW Forever: you find books around the world and hand them in to your faction's librarian, Garion Wendell in Stormwind or Owen Thadd in Undercity. Reward quests open at 10, 20 and 25 different books, and each gives you a choice of one item. Blizzard hasn't written a guide to them, so this comes from players' guides and add-on authors. We mark it Unverified until we've checked it in game.

The rewards

Books handed in Reward Choices reported
10 Necklace Scholarly Pendant or Erudite's Amulet
20 Ring Field Researcher's Loop or Philanthropist's Ring
25 Weapon or off-hand Truthseeker's Bow, Crest of Elucidation or Researcher's Night Light

Guides disagree on the item stats and on the level each quest needs. One says the ring quest needs level 20 and the bow needs level 40 to equip. Check the quest text in game before you plan around a stat.

How it works

  • Different books count, not copies. Two of the same book won't move you forward.
  • Hand them in one at a time. You don't need to save them up.
  • About 40 books exist. That's the number add-on authors track, though one guide says only 38 have known hand-in quests.
  • Both factions can do it. Each has its own librarian.

Finding them

Books sit on tables, shelves and in houses around the world, from Elwynn Forest outwards. The fastest way is an add-on that marks them on your map. Our sister site lists them in library book add-ons.

Is it worth it

For a levelling character, yes: the necklace and ring come early and fill slots you might otherwise leave empty. A Hunter who finds a better bow can skip the 25-book reward, but the Crest and the Night Light suit casters and tanks.

Other side activities with rewards are in reputations and the Legacy planner.
