If you're in North America and hear Portuguese or Spanish around you in WoW Forever, it's because Blizzard's Americas region includes Latin America and Brazil. Forever has no realm list, so you pick a ruleset and the game places you. Players from the whole region can end up in the same world. A player thread asks about exactly this.
What we know
- Forever uses rulesets, not realms. See realmless explained.
- Blizzard's Americas region covers North America, Latin America, Brazil and Oceania.
- You can only group with players on the same ruleset and faction.
What we don't know
Players also report a preferred account location setting that looks wrong on their account. Those are bug reports, and we haven't seen Blizzard explain how location affects which world you're placed in. Others say characters appeared on a ruleset they didn't choose. We found no staff reply on either when we checked on 5 November.
What you can do
- Join a guild or community in your own language. Guilds use chat channels, so you'll hear your language more.
- Use your own chat channels, so busy local ones matter less.
- Report it if your characters moved ruleset without you doing anything. Add your character names and when it happened.
