Macros save buttons and stop silly mistakes, like casting on the wrong target. Forever uses the standard WoW macro commands. Every spec guide has a Macros page with copy buttons. These three work on any class.
Trinkets on one key
#showtooltip
/use 13
/use 14
Slots 13 and 14 are your trinkets. One key uses whichever is ready.
Attack without losing your target
/targetenemy [noharm][dead]
/startattack
It picks a new enemy only if you don't have a living one, then starts auto-attack. Good for melee while leveling.
Assist the tank
/assist [@focus,exists]
/startattack [harm,nodead]
Set your tank as focus first (/focus with the tank targeted). In dungeons this keeps everyone on the same enemy.
How the syntax works
#showtooltipshows the icon and tooltip of the first spell or item in the macro.- Square brackets are conditions:
[@mouseover,help,nodead]means a living friendly target under your mouse. - An empty
[]at the end means otherwise, use your current target.
Class examples
A
Warrior can tie Victory Rush to auto-attack:
#showtooltip Victory Rush
/startattack
/cast Victory Rush
Find more on your spec's macros page, for example Holy Priest macros. We only use spell names Blizzard has published for Forever, so test each macro in game once before relying on it.
