WoW Forever quick answers: dungeon finder, dual spec, transmog, layers, guilds, Dalaran
Updated 2026-11-02

Short answers to the questions people search most, with how sure we are about each. Is there a dungeon finder in WoW Forever: no automatic one, as far as anyone has shown. Is there dual spec: yes, from level 40.
Is there a dungeon finder in WoW Forever?
No automatic one. Beta data. Blizzard's posts don't mention a dungeon finder. Warcraft Tavern's report from the BlizzCon demo describes a Classic-style Looking For Group window that helps you find people, but doesn't form the group or teleport you. Beta players on Blizzard's forums describe the same. It also reports that summoning stones don't work, so you travel to each entrance. We'll confirm this in the live game.
Is there dual spec?
Yes, at level 40. Confirmed from Blizzard's class posts. You still respec at a class trainer in a major city. Your class page lists what's new in each tree.
How do you transmog?
Confirmed from Blizzard's panel recap and new player guide:
- Visit a transmogrifier in certain cities to set up or turn off your appearance.
- The Enhanced preset has transmog on, and the Classic preset has it off. You can change that under Options.
- Appearances follow item type: plate to plate, cloth to cloth.
- Low-level characters can't use high-level appearances until level 60.
- Poor and Common items give you the appearance straight away, without binding.
- Uncommon and Rare bind-on-pickup dungeon items give the appearance to all eligible looters. Epic raid drops give it only to the player the item binds to.
How do you change layers?
Unknown. Blizzard hasn't documented layers in anything we've read, so we can't give you steps. Beta players on the forums describe being moved between copies of the world automatically, sometimes on changing zone. They disagree on the details, and they report no way to pick one. Those are Unverified reports from the beta, so treat any guide with exact steps carefully until Blizzard says something.
How do you make a guild?
Not documented for Forever. Blizzard's new player guide tells you to join a guild, but doesn't describe creating one. In Classic you buy a charter from a guild master in a capital city and collect signatures. Forever may work the same way, but that's Unverified until we've done it. Guilds only work within one ruleset and faction, so agree on those first.
Is Dalaran Alliance only?
No. Confirmed. The City of Dalaran dungeon (levels 28 to 33, Alterac Mountains) has an entry questline for both factions, according to Blizzard's dungeon post:
- Alliance: "An Alarming Request" from Emissary Jacques in Southshore.
- Horde: "Key to the City" and "Prison Break-In" from Magus Wordeen Voidglare in Tarren Mill.
Your group has to earn the Kirin Tor's trust first, then you go in through the sewers. Horde and Alliance still can't group together. See the City of Dalaran page.
