The Skyborne are Forever's new race, and the first new playable race in this version of Azeroth. Blizzard detailed them in Meet the New Skyborne. Here's the short version.

Two factions, two flavours

  • Windshaper Skyborne (Horde): Druid, Hunter, Rogue, Shaman, Warrior.
  • High Order Skyborne (Alliance): Druid, Hunter, Mage, Rogue, Warrior.

Both start on Zephras Isle (levels 1–12) and choose a faction at character creation.

Racials

Both get Walk on Air (glide down for 10 seconds), Wind Blessed (1% melee, ranged and spell haste) and Elemental Insight (5% more damage against Elementals). Windshapers add Skysight, a 10% run speed blessing. High Order add Read Ley Line: activating a ley line doubles health and mana regeneration.

Which classes they suit

Haste helps every class, so the Skyborne are a solid pick for anything they can play. The run speed from Skysight is especially nice for a Hunter or a Warrior, and Read Ley Line shortens a Mage's drinking breaks. Skyborne Druids also get their own new animal forms.

Blizzard hasn't published Forever racials for the original eight races yet, and its Priest notes say racials were reworked. So we don't compare the Skyborne against Classic racials. We'll update the race guide when the live client is out.
