WoW Forever is not free, but it has no separate box price either. It's included with an active World of Warcraft subscription or Game Time, and a US subscription starts from $14.99 a month. The Skyborne packs are optional, and you only need one if you want to play Skyborne.

Prices are Confirmed from the Forever and subscription pages on the US Battle.net Shop, read on 2 November. Prices vary by region (the European shop lists the same packs in euros), so check your own.

The price options

What US price What it gets you
Subscription or Game Time From $14.99 a month Forever itself, from 4 November
Skyborne Heroic Pack $29.99 The Skyborne race and more, below
Skyborne Epic Pack $59.99 Heroic Pack, 30 days of Game Time and more
Warcraft Forever Collection $79.99 Epic Pack plus Warcraft III: Reforged and Forsaken Kingdom. On sale until 11 January 2027

You still need a subscription or Game Time with any pack, beyond the 30 days included in the Epic Pack and Collection.

Heroic Pack

  • Skyborne race and the Zephras Isle starting experience
  • Cerulean Prideclaw ground mount
  • Shen'dorei Skyseer's Garb transmog, Veteran Adventurer's Rucksack and Shen'dorei Windwell toy, usable in both modern WoW and Forever
  • Skyborne housing decor, for modern WoW only
  • Early Name Reservation, which ends 3 November
  • One Invite-A-Friend Launch Code

Epic Pack

Everything in the Heroic Pack, plus:

  • 30 days of Game Time, added when Forever launches
  • Veteran Adventurer's Loyal Companion ground mount and the matching Outdoor Wear transmog
  • Zergling, Panda, Diablo and Pachimari pets, and two tabards, for Forever only
  • Two more Invite-A-Friend codes

Collector's Edition

A physical set from Blizzard's Gear Store: a 13-inch Dwarf and Bear statue, a Zephras Isle mousepad, art prints, pins and a companion journal. Its digital code unlocks the Warcraft Forever Collection, so it includes the Epic Pack and 30 days of Game Time (Blizzard's post). The US Gear Store lists it at $150, read on 2 November. Restock orders are expected to ship and deliver in February 2027, and prices differ by region.

Which should you buy

If you don't care about Skyborne, you don't need a pack. If you want Skyborne, the Heroic Pack is the cheapest way in. The Epic Pack costs $30 more, and part of that goes on 30 days of Game Time you'd probably pay for anyway. Choose it only if you want the extra mount and cosmetics too.

The race itself is on our Windshaper and High Order pages.

Play for free for a week

An Invite-A-Friend Launch Code from a pack owner gives an eligible player access to Forever from 4 to 11 November. That's the only free route we've seen Blizzard describe for Forever. Restrictions apply, per the shop page. We haven't confirmed whether WoW's general free trial covers Forever, so treat that as Unverified.
