How long does 1 to 60 take in WoW Forever?
Updated 2026-11-03

Nobody can tell you exactly how long 1 to 60 takes in WoW Forever yet, because the final version hasn't been played. Blizzard hasn't published a figure, and its 1 October notes still had the beta capped at level 30. Player estimates mostly run from about 100 to 200 hours played.
What players estimate
These come from threads on Blizzard's forums (one, two). They're guesses, not measurements, so treat them as Unverified.
| Style of play | Hours played, as guessed by players |
|---|---|
| Optimised, mostly grinding creatures | 60 to 80 |
| Efficient questing | 100 to 150 |
| Normal pace with professions and dungeons | 150 to 200 |
| Relaxed, exploring everything | 200 to 250 or more |
What Blizzard has said that affects your speed
- Combat pace: an ordinary creature should take a solo player roughly 10 to 15 seconds (panel recap).
- More to do: over 1,000 new quests across levels 1 to 60. On 3 November Blizzard also raised class damage and the health of higher-level creatures together.
- Dungeons: bonus experience from dungeon quests was cut by 50% on 1 October, then kill experience in dungeons went up about 20% on 8 October (notes).
- Rest and food: crafted food can give a small experience bonus, and the Leatherworking Camp Tent adds rested experience worth 5% of a level.
- Alts: the Legacy perk Well Rested raises your rested cap, and Talented unlocks talent points up to 5 levels early. You need Legacy Points first, so your first character gets less from this.
One player says Blizzard's podcast showed leveling a little slower than original WoW. We haven't confirmed that, so it's Unverified.
How that fits the 9 December raids
Raids open 35 days after launch. At these daily amounts you'd reach this many hours:
| Per day | Hours by 9 December |
|---|---|
| 1 hour | 35 |
| 2 hours | 70 |
| 4 hours | 140 |
| 6 hours | 210 |
So if the estimates hold, someone playing 4 hours a day gets to 60 close to raid opening, and someone playing 2 hours a day won't. Blizzard describes this game as permanent, and nothing we've read suggests raids close, so there's no need to rush.
To go faster, see the fastest leveling classes and your class's leveling guide. We'll replace these estimates with real numbers once people have reached 60.
